One day, Mario was rescuing Princess Toadstool from King Koopa. Suddenly, Bowser's Keep was shaken by a giant sword. With the Star Road shattered and the wishes of the Mushroom Kingdom unfulfilled, Mario and his friends must race against time, battling the metallic warriors of the Smithy Gang.
On a peaceful day, Princess Toadstool is picking flowers near Mario's house when she is kidnapped by Bowser. Mario goes to rescue her and defeats the Koopa King as usual - but this time, a darker force than any Mario has ever seen descends - the giant sword Exor, which comes crashing from the sky and smashes into Bowser's Keep. The three are scattered across the land. Mario later discovers that the villainous sword is the harbinger of the "Smithy Gang", a group of weapon-like monstrosities that plan world domination. To achieve this end, Exor destroyed the Star Road-seven special stars that transform normal wishes into realities. Mario will need the power of the Stars to help him save the day and restore wishing power to Mushroom Land, along with the help of new friends and old enemies...
The very first RPG's I've ever played were turn-based, so at the time I enjoyed this game! However aftering playing the secret of mana series, chrono trigger, and world of warcraft (lol, if wow is an RPG)I find this RPG to be boring. It isn't just because it is turned based, but also the annoying encounters that happen when you run into a mob.
If they would of made this RPG in a attack quick format, as well as not in encounter form I would love it!
This game isn't worth the average 30$ that you see it for on ebay I only typed that last line because this ten line thing is complete BS. Anyone else feel me?
Will Bowser ever tire of kidnapping Princess Toadstool? Apparently not. But that's OK because this game is great. Mario has found ways to kill enemies other than jumping on them or shooting them (although he still does both in this game) Build levels, gain attacks, get weapons and armor, all that stuff that you always have in RPGs. There are all sorts of interesting characters you meet up with, and by the end you have quite the motley crew (including the princess and Bowser, yes Bowser)
