Vijay Varma (Akshaye Khanna) learns a few lessons about love and life. Wooing his sweetheart proves an arduous task as poor Vijay faces constant rejection by the woman who has captured his heart as well as by her family. But when both do a startling volte-face, which is followed by further indecision, Vijay's life seems caught in a perpetual state of bewilderment.
Vijay (Akshaye Khanna) is in love with Madhu (Urmilla Matondkar). His parents and his grandpa (Kader Khan) have no objections to his marriage, however, Sukhiram (Paresh Rawal), Madhu's dad is vehemently opposed to the marriage. His opinion suddenly undergoes a change when he meets with Vijay. He subsequently agrees to bless the couple and arranges an engagement party. At this party sukhiram announces that he not going to give his blessings to Vijay and Madhu, and asks Vijay and his family to get out of his house. Humiliated, Vijay and his family are perplexed at Sukhiram's actions. Madhu threatens to run away but Sukhiram manages to convince her that Vijay is not the right husband for her. Vijay's enquiries expose his family's secrets, his father is not who he claims he is, but a man who has undergone plastic surgery to elude the police for killing Sukhiram's family.
The acting was superb in this movie and the storyline was also quite enthralling, that is, up until you are introduced to the second half of the film. It is completely unbelievable!! It's almost as if you are watching a completely different movie. But if you let that go, the film is not too bad and is a cheesy Bollywood flick that you can watch on a rainy day when there's not much to do. Akshaye Khanna and Urmila Matondkar make an adorable pair and the songs are cheesy, yet very likable. And as all other Bollywood movies, you will find a "happily-ever-after" ending that kind of makes you realize how much more unrealistic the movie is. If you want to watch this film, please try not to think while viewing it, otherwise you'll just make yourself go crazy. All-in-all a decent Bollywood movie.
This movie was awesome Akshaye Khanna always performed good but for some reason his talent was unrecognized
Urmilla Matonkar is OK
Kader Khan is a good performer and proves he has skill in this film
Ravi Kishan is quite of a villain at the start then goes a little good but is pure bad in the climax
Paresh Rawal looks quite menacing and scary as the villain
Aruna Irani is quite funny
This movie is quite cheesy and enjoyable An awesome bit is where Kader Khan reveals that Akshaye Khanna's dad used to look like him and had plastic surgery to save himself from the law after he killed someone
