Three Vietnam vets are targeted by the government in a top secret project that turns normal men into terminators. When Leroy is caught after slaughtering a restaurant full of people he is happily sentenced to death. When the government comes to Leroy's friend, Marty's house for questioning, Marty slowly soaks in what is happening around him. Realizing his friends were being programmed to kill, and ties with Leroy make him next, he and his wife, Susan embark on a dangerous mission to save Skully, one of his friends from the war, while trying to find the reason behind the conspiracy. But Marty is constantly haunted by the nightmare he faced in Vietnam. Will saving his friends once again bring him to peace?
One of the most interesting and captivating movies I ever saw.. Very cool low-budget movie that's worth a look for sure. Starts out innocent enough as we become spectators in the life of Marty, a Vietnam vet with a seemingly peaceful life.. But the mood is about to change.It's a movie that really makes you wonder who is controlling us out there, and why? and check out the cool pivoting front door to Marty's place. Very unique. Overall, a very good picture.. Not sure if I've seen any of the actors here before or since, but what the heck, it was fun while it lasted. Only minor areas that could have been improved were some sound issues and a scene or two with a spot on the lens.. Besides that, a thriller sure to keep you on the edge of your seat.
But I learned a fair bit:
- If you only have enough dialogue and plot to cover a 2 minute long cartoon, don't worry. You can just get every character to repeat every line three or four times and take long pauses in between the words. The audience won't find this tactic really annoying, even after 85 minutes. (You'll note that I'll be referring to this point regularly throughout the review.)
- Women who are in the same room as a police mini-interrogation need to ask someone else who was there to find out what was said.
- American cops drive South African police vehicles. In fact, the whole film is guilty of trying to pass off South African locations as American.
- Government officials target small groups of Vietnam war friends for mind-control, so that they will randomly mow down civilians. What purpose this achieves is unknown.
- Crazy, shrieking women actually do know everything about what the Government is up to.
- Top secret government experiments are carried out in standard hospitals. No military or police are ever present to ensure any secrecy.
- The tagline and title of a movie do not have to have anything to do with the events of a film.
- When the back of the video case talks about a Rambo-style arsenal, it really means just one shotgun.
- Police allow a highly-armed mentally insane man to stand around while they get one of his untrained friends to try and talk him out of killing people. Apparently this is standard protocol if the friend asks politely.
