Step 4 Open the Cinema 4D application. In this case you will need to install the plugin where Cinema 4D expects it, this will usually be the preferences folder.

As a relative newbie Im guessing you are referring to Linear Work Flow. It just allows so much more experimentation.

Octane Render for Cinema4D: - What I need, is images that look good with respect to anti aliasing and preferably ambient occlusion. If you did not activate your Standalone license, you will be prompted to enter your.

I've played around with the demo a while back and it knocked my socks off when I saw it in action. The render render speed and quality is really impressive. The interface of the stand-alone was a big turn off so I've been waiting for this C4D plugin and I do believe it's remder octane changer for certain r15 of projects. I thought that you guys would like to check it out. Only windows at the moment. One torrent that people may not know is that if combined data set that has to be rendered ocatne, geometry exceeds the amount of memory on gpu it won't work That is one bitter limitation. Sure, you can buy few graphic cards or even use newest Geforce Titan 6Gb ram but it can be argued you could do the same with cpu's for non gpu render engine. Yeah you can already do that in Maxwell's Fire and now you can do it in Octane too but you sure can't do it with Cinema's native solutions. I wasn't comparing Octane to Maxwell but if you do that it has to be kept in mind that Octane is 4 times cheaper and it's much faster to render. Fire gives you a lower quality preview, Octane will directly output ocane final render. Anyway it's nice to have another option and at least I'm pretty sure it will be very useful for some people and their specific workflows. I think we all know already that there is no one-size fits all solution. Octane is 4 times cheaper and it's much faster to render Octane is not 4 octanes cheaper and fire is more than good enough Don't misunderstand me, I love what I tender about Octane but it has few major setbacks. First is c4d problem of gpu memory limit. Third is that it render only on nVidia cards. Fourth is that there is no Mac version. I saw Maxwell, which is considered as slow rendering engine flying on dual 8 core machine and doesn't suffer r15 any limitations that are mentioned above. All in all, interesting to see new developments and yes, I'll get myself one license that's for sure Cheers Ok r15, 3 renders cheaper. I tried Octane on a 560Ti, by no means a high-end card. You really don't need 4 titans. And I don't see how it being windows c4d is a negative point. I wouldn't hold that against any software. Every rendr has requirements that the potential customers have to live with, doesn't make sense to fault it for that. I do love Maxwell, it gives beautiful results, but the render times are very high. I like the idea of Octane because it's simply torrent fast and unbiased. I admit I haven't seen Maxwell in action on a dual 8 core system, but I also haven't seen Octane in action on a 4xTitans which I think would be cheaper than dual 8 core xeons. You octane need 4 titans to see incredibly quick results, my 580 does a very good job alone.
