BaT Auction: 13k-Mile 2003 Chevrolet Corvette Z06

This 2003 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 reportedly remained with its original owner until its acquisition by the seller in January 2019 and shows 13k miles. Power is from a 5.7-liter V8 paired with a rear-mounted 6-speed manual transaxle, and the car is finished in Black over Torch Red. Features include a 3.42:1 rear axle, a head-up display, side moldings, electrochromic mirrors, and 50th anniversary badging. This C5 is offered with a window sticker, dealer paperwork, period promotional materials, a Carfax report, and a Nebraska title.

The Z06 featured a fixed hardtop, revised gearbox ratios, upgraded suspension, wider wheels and tires, and functional brake cooling ducts when compared to the standard C5. Additional weight saving measures included thinner glass and less sound deadening material. This example is finished in black and fitted with optional side moldings as well as 50th Anniversary badges.

The staggered-width aluminum wheels wear Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires with 2003 date codes, sized 265/40ZR17 up front and 295/35ZR18 out back. Curb rash is noted on the passenger-side wheels. Factory brake cooling ducts are equipped at each corner.

The cockpit is trimmed in Torch Red and black leather with matching carpets and features a head-up display, dual-zone automatic climate control, an AM/FM/CD stereo, electrochromic mirrors, and embroidered accents.

Instrumentation includes a 200-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline, and a digital odometer showing 13k miles.

The 5.7-liter LS6 V8 incorporated a number of improvements over earlier versions including upgraded valves with stiffer springs, a larger air intake, and a more aggressive cam for a rating of 405 horsepower when new.

The C5 was the first generation of Corvette produced with a rear-mounted 6-speed manual transaxle, here featuring a 3.42:1 limited-slip differential. Additional underside photos are viewable in the gallery below.

The laminated window sticker lists standard and optional features along with an MSRP of $52,155. Dealership paperwork, a promotional VHS tape and CD, and two keys are also included in the sale.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage, though a 2004 recall is listed for an electronic steering column lock.
