An initial study published by the Los Angeles Department of City Planning has unveiled plans for a multifamily residential development near the 405 and 118 Freeways in Mission Hills.

The project, which would replace two restaurants at the southwest corner of Sepulveda Boulevard and Bermuda Street, calls for the construction of a four-story building featuring 52 one- and two-bedroom apartments - including seven to be set aside for very low- and extremely low-income households -above ground-level parking for 77 vehicles.

Called the Bermuda Apartments, the building would be clad with smooth finish stucco on its upper floors and a concrete masonry unit wall at ground level.  Renderings show a boxy low-rise structure colored gray, white, and orange.

Construction of the proposed apartment complex would occur over approximately 21 months.  The environmental report forecasts a construction period between August 2019 and April 2021.

The applicant behind the Bermuda Apartments is listed as the Ackerman Family Limited Partnership of San Pedro.
