The tenth race with the ongoing Nextel Cup Series is scheduled to happen on the 5th May in 2010 at the Richmond International Speedway. This year s race is going to be called the Crown Royal Presents the Jim Stewart 400 after the winner with the essay writing contest sponsored by the Crown Royal.

As drivers, engineers and racing personalities gear up for the race, Johnny Benson is additionally taking preparation as part of his sixth start this coming year. Recently, the veteran driver discussed his relationship with present employer Wyler Racing.

Johnny Benson was recently named by the team drive an automobile the no. 46 Toyota Camry on the next race from the season. Benson looked back about how he got the task. The Wyler's and (Crew Chief) Tony Furr inquired about to do some testing for them at the end of a year ago and we belief that test went practically, says Benson. As this season got underway, these folks were talking about doing a bit of more testing and called to find out if I would do it. I said, "Yeah, I'd be glad." I thought it would be pretty cool to help them ensure that you just to assist them out. I like doing that form of stuff, he continued. After testing, the team liked his performance which generated him being named as the team s starter. We visited Richmond earlier this year as well as the test went well. I was hoping if they ever went racing I'd get an opportunity to operate a vehicle. I said excitedly that they didn't have any obligation for me personally they are driving it, but that I so want to contain the chance. This past week they called and declared that we had been gonna race at Richmond and that I could drive, so I was pretty enthusiastic about it. It's a pretty cool deal, enthused Benson.

As far as his expectation for that upcoming race with his fantastic knowledge of the track, Benson is apparently ready for that race. I think overall Richmond has been a great track to me. I love racing there. I love the form of track it is. I like how a racers approach that track knowing it's actually a two groove race track. Benson also pointed out his passion for that track in their recent statement. You can race anywhere you need, he states. You don't have to beat and bang your path past somebody. It's just a great race track. And it's really a Saturday night race which can be great for the fans so you be aware of whole atmosphere facet of it really is good. It's a kind of track that I like. It's a challenging track but it is also a finesse style race track. I think that falls within my suit. I've stood a lots of great races there and a few that we've run rather well which don't have the finishes to prove that based off being depressed by something. But it is a place that I revel in and want to race at.

The next race will probably be kept in relatively shorter tracks than other speedways. For Benson, this truth is considered as an advantage. I like racing on all of the tracks we go too. They all have their own challenges. But I think as most racers - because we spent my youth on short tracks - we always enjoy racing in it, says Benson. We accomplish that many intermediate tracks given that the short tracks really are a a bit more few in number; maybe not so much within the Truck Series, but inside the Cup Series. So I think most of us enjoy going back and running the short track races.

While Benson has experienced good races in Richmond and that he admitted the track is to his liking, how he performs inside the actual race can be seen in how he has tested his Camry with the speedway. To his credit, Benson looks set to experience a good race after he has completed his test of the track with no sign of problems in any respect. I think the communication that I had with Tony Furr in the test in Richmond was excellent, he explained. We unloaded for that test and were decent next to from the truck, he added. He also credited his team for that way quality moved. As the day took, I was pretty in awe of Tony and many types of the people that work at Wyler Racing. I was impressed when I worked with them on the Homestead test recently and then, obviously, at Richmond too. They all are very effective together and communicate well. Our speeds were good and that we were happy with our qualifying efforts and our speeds in race trim.

While testing good is often a positive boost for your team, Benson knows how the actual race will probably be a different area. It will be a different deal heading back for that race, but I hope we can take care of the form of run that people had at the test, Benson said. The opportunity sitting in front of us is a good possiblity to hopefully go there and run well, he concluded.

With Benson s driving experience, his familiarity with the track with his fantastic admission that the next track they will likely be racing on is usually to his liking, there is often a positive chance that he may have an excellent race come May 5. Aside from that, he's got a Toyota Camry to operate a vehicle that's engineered to offer more boost than standard a Toyota Camry built with a Toyota cold air intake system.
