Boy-band fever is hitting the U.S. hard right now, and it's all thanks to the already legendary BTS, who have been making appearance after appearance stateside and wooing us all with sweet harmonies and delightful dance moves. On Wednesday night, BTS secured their status as legends by paying homage to another international group that also sent the U.S. into a frenzy, more than 50 years ago: the Beatles.

BTS paid homage to the Beatles during their first appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. Colbert helped BTS re-create the Beatles' famous 1964 performance on The Ed Sullivan Show, a performance which also served to introduce the band to a bigger U.S. audience. The BTS ARMY has been on the BTS beat for a long time, but the time has finally come to make sure every single U.S. citizen knows about BTS. So why not model a history-making late night performance after an iconic performance that helped launch a group to true global stardom?

Wednesday night's Late Show episode included a black-and-white cold open that set up the Beatles/BTS schtick, with host Colbert doing his best Ed Sullivan impression. The cold open also featured each member of BTS getting time in the spotlight, as a way for new viewers to get to know them. The cold open was only made better by Colbert getting the group together and introducing each of them as "the cute one," with the camera slowly panning to each member of BTS as they made cute faces.

After Colbert spent time interviewing the group, they resumed their Beatles bit by performing "Boy With Luv" on a set that was re-created, down to the drum kit, in the image of the Beatles' 1964 performance. Check out the Beatles performing "Twist & Shout" on The Ed Sullivan Show so you can see just how accurate BTS was in re-creating this huge moment in music history.

If this performance doesn't convince you all to join the rest of the ARMY in celebrating BTS, then we don't know what will.
