CURRY’S HIGHLIGHTS: CRAZIEST BUZZER-BEATERS OF ALL TIME

Called by many players and sports analysts to be the greatest shooter in the history of the NBA. Born on March 14, 1988 at Akron, Ohio, Wardell Stephen “Steph” Curry or most popularly known as Stephen Curry. This point guard with a jersey number 30 is one of the players for the Golden State Warriors. He won three NBA Championships, named twice as the NBA Most Valuable Player, and a sixth time NBA All-Star. Since Curry is widely known for his three point shots, he also made sure that this became a part of his winning strategy. Speaking of his winning strategies, Steph Curry’s highlights in his games were his buzzer beaters.

But before unveiling Curry’s highlights, let’s know a little bit more about him. He was the son of a former NBA Player, and his older brother is also an NBA player. It looked like playing for the NBA is in their blood. During his college years, he played for a college basketball team for Davidson. During those times he set an NCAA record for the most three-points made. He was then selected with the seventh overall pick in the NBA Drafting in 2009 by the Golden State Warriors on June 25, 2009. He has played for the same team until present times.

Going back, he is undeniably one of the greatest players to have ever played in the NBA, and there is a long list of Curry’s highlights that we could choose from. Starting with his three-points shots, halfcourt shots and smooth dribbles. Surely a fan would know how he plays and how he was recognized in the NBA. Out of all his great happenings in the court, there are five buzzer beating moments that were truly outstanding.

Craziest Buzzer Beater No. 5: January 22, 2016. It was an intense game between the Pacers and the Warriors and the time was running out when Curry took a buzzer beater shot. Although he made a basket, it was not counted for the ball was released after the buzzer. But at the next quarter he made sure to make each second count as he took another buzzer beater shot, leaving Pacers stunned of the act.

Craziest Buzzer Beater No. 4: May 15, 2015. Game 6 of Western Conference Semifinals, a game versus Memphis Grizzlies. The most magical buzzer beater when he took a three-fourth court shot and released the ball just milliseconds before the buzzer sounds off. Ending the quarter eight points ahead.

Craziest Buzzer Beater No. 3: April 23, 2015. Game 3 of the NBA Playoffs’ First Round against the New Orleans Pelicans, it was the time when Curry cornered victory through an overtime. Warriors on the second lead was not complacent with their advantage and still played it in, making sure to always close in the gaps between scores. He first made a three leaving 11.8 seconds on the clock, but it was not enough. So when the opponents got distracted in guarding him, he made a quick slide at the side of the court, received the ball, and successfully released another three just before the sound goes off. This put them in a tied position and an overtime was demanded.

Craziest Buzzer Beater No. 2: July 23, 2018. Game 2 of the NBA Finals as Warriors faced Cleveland Cavaliers. Up against Kevin Love, Curry did not see him as a wall at all. Love was six feet and ten inches tall, but Curry was not stunned with his height at all. He took a quick swing and threw it into the air. It was invisible for a split second until it dropped down and made a basket. His continuous points put them in victory spot with 122-103.

Craziest Buzzer Beater No. 1: February 27, 2016. This time the Warriors were up against the Oklahoma City Thunder. It was not just an overtime that made them win, it was the confidence Curry had with his team and with his shots. As the game was going on, the Warriors kept on closing in the gap with the scores making sure that they were not that far left out. His continuous three-points put them in a close tie, putting them in an overtime. Again, by the last five seconds of their overtime, they tied at 118-118. Curry made a miraculous buzzer beater shot and released another three-points shot putting them at 121, bringing home victory for this game.

Curry has started his career in this industry as a mere player but he made a name that will be written down in the history of the NBA. There is still a long way to go and a bright future ahead of him, and his fans are definitely on the lookout for his crazy stunts again.
