Why Back to Work Training for Mums Is Needed

from web site

Back to work training for mums from all backgrounds is essential. Not only is it crucial for their well-being and career growth but also contributes positively to the UK economy. More mothers are likely to go back to work full-time than 20 years ago therefore, by providing back to work training for mums, the percentage of mothers returning to work will ultimately increase.

Why is Back to Work Training for Mums Needed?

There are many reasons why back to work training for mums is needed. The most common reasons tend to be, financial pressure, peer pressure, career growth and elevating self-confidence. A lot of parents that I have spoken to -especially those currently on maternity leave – feel they are at a crossroads. They have a fear of “being seen as not committed because I have a baby,” or not knowing what their skills are after being out of work for so long.

This is why back to work training for mums is essential, because they need support, motivation and direction to find work that works for them.

Achieving Flexible Work

This brings me on my next point. Why training is needed to help mothers find flexible work. Flexible work is a huge topic and has become a focal point for companies wishing to retain talent and drive growth. On the other hand, many mothers feel that finding flexible work is practically non-existent and, the majority of the jobs available do not fit in with their family life. The mothers I meet, want to work but often feel that the door is closed to them.

Another point to add is that the mothers who are working, or about to return from maternity leave have a deep fear of asking for flexible working from their employer due to be seen as being in the “slow lane.” Since 2010, the law in UK has allowed for employees to request for flexible working-if they have been employed for more than 26 weeks. The employer doesn’t need to accept it however, legally, employers have to acknowledge and take a flexible working request seriously.

The work at home jobs for mum bottom line is that mothers need training on not only how to source flexible working jobs but also how to ask for flexible working. Being a mother is the hardest job anyone can do but the transferable skills you learn is tremendous. Mothers are fantastic multitaskers, can handle stress with ease and creative. Employers need those skills so that is why back to work training for mums is needed. Altogether mothers are a true asset to any company.
