NBA news: After years of trying to make a comeback, former Toronto Raptors and Miami Heat star announced back in February that he’s retiring from the NBA. The two-time champion said that he’s at peace with his decision and that he’s proud of everything he was able to accomplish in the league.

“The story’s there. I was able to have big moments. The proof is in the work, even if it takes time for people to understand. … If people wanna dive into it, they can. They can dissect it. I’m proud of it. It’ll live on forever.”

Bosh, the fourth overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft, spent 13 and a half seasons in the league before blood clots ended his career. Despite his efforts to make a comeback, the NBA wasn’t willing to give him another shot, as his condition could get worse. It took Bosh some time to admit that his playing days are over, but he later accepted everything and he chose to finally move on.

“After a while, after a couple of years, I didn’t want to put myself out there and have that letdown again,” Bosh said. “I don’t want to be mad at the game. I don’t want to resent the game. Let me just walk away now cause I haven’t told any doctors.”

Aside from his two championships, Bosh is an 11-time All-Star, a member of the All-NBA second team back in 2007, and was a vital piece in the USA men’s national basketball team that won the Olympics in 2008.

Bosh is still just 35 years old, and if it wasn’t for his medical condition, he would still be playing in the NBA and he would’ve been a perfect fit in today’s game. He’s a player who can shoot 3s on a consistent basis and he’s also capable of defending multiple positions. Teams would’ve gone after someone as versatile as he is.

While it is unfortunate that Bosh’s career had to end the way it did, it’s also good to know that he’s already contented with where he is now.

And for someone who had to make an extremely difficult decision, finding peace is what really matters.
