Closet Organization Systems - A Methodical Approach to Counter Clutter

Closets are on top of the priority list when it comes to organizing living spaces but it requires systematic planning. Before actually taking the plunge in a closet organization exercise, one should carefully prepare a list of what all items need to be stashed inside a particular closet and more importantly how much out of those are actually useful and needs to be retained. An effective organization system can be only devised, if the list of useful and redundant items is drawn up beforehand.

Let us now analyze the closet organization systems for different kinds of closets.

System of organizing the Bedroom Closet - Estimate the number and the different kinds of apparel that is intended to be put in a particular closet, and thereafter select an organizer with adequate space for storing dresses of all lengths. It is advisable to keep approximately 20 per cent of the total storage space empty for apparel that may be purchased at a future date. Items that are used regularly should be kept between shoulder and knee height. Very often, we do not use the area above the highest shelf. Depending on your height, it makes sense to keep a small stool handy to reach out to such spaces and items that are very seldom used can be stored in the top shelf. see now depo rafı

System of organizing the Shoe Closet - Considerable attention to detail would be required for devising a correct organization system for the shoe closet. It is advisable to keep gents and ladies shoes in different shelves. Kid's shoes should preferably be stored separately in kid's closets. Another important consideration while organizing this would be the type of shoes placed in one particular shelf. Formals and office wear shoes should not be ideally kept along with casual wear or sports shoes. Also shoe accessories, for example liquid polish, wax and the shoe dusters should be kept in an altogether separate section within the shoe closet. Ladies shoes generally are available in much more variety and depending on the different styles that one possesses; it is a good idea to have separate shelves for storing platforms, heels, stilettos, flat sandals and/or fancy boots.

System of organizing the Linen Closet - This should be organized by taking into consideration the size of different linen items like bed sheet, pillows, quilts, blankets, curtains and draperies, etc. It should be organized in a way that similar categories are stored on the same shelves or racks and usually the bigger items are placed at the bottom while the smaller ones stay on the top. To organize a linen closet, the frequency of usage of the items is an important thought - things that are required once in a week or more frequently, should be placed at a height between shoulder and the knees.
