What is a gasket?

It is a rubber, EPTFE, EPDM, or the other material which is employed to seal two flat surfaces. Knowing what to put between flanges or mating pieces requires understanding what demands the joint may even see. the fabric used for your gasket must be compatible with the temperatures, pressures, and media the gasket will see. The sealing materials which will seal the widest range of applications are Flexible Graphite and Expanded PTFE.

Flexible Graphite Gaskets – Flexible graphite has emerged as a reasonable option for the bulk of applications thanks to today’s economies of scale & increased competition. the first reason for an increased demand in flexible graphite is thanks to its ability to exchange a good range of gasket materials. What was once an upscale & complicated decision for selecting gasket materials, is now a simple & affordable choice because of flexible graphite. The graphite sheets are available with an anti-stick coating that avoids sticking, aides in easy gasket removal, & keeps the flanges cleaner.

Expanded PTFE has been developed to seal flanges with minimal torque load. it's soft and conformable. an excellent solution for glass-lined pipe flanges.

FDA approved it's a clean material .

Any sort of PTFE gasket sheet is great for creating gaskets intended for chemical applications, food, and beverage gaskets. it's capable can serve in temperatures up to 600°F Peaks.
