In order to effectively implement critical chain project management, trainees must master several tools. These tools will support the key aspects of CPM, such as understanding the interdependence of tasks and identifying bottlenecks. They also must gain knowledge about the tools and processes associated with producing quality systems. The most common tools include the Control Flow Task (CFTC), Flow Projection Task (FFTP), and Flow Projection Workstation (FFWD) tools. Control Flow Task (CFTC) - The CFTC method is sometimes called the foundation of critical path methodology. Its principle is that there are repeating patterns in the execution of a process. Agile and Lean methodologies can be used for improving the overall productivity of the project. Agile is considered as the Method, while leaning is considered as the Technique. These methods will guide the team towards the achievement of its defined goals. The concepts of these two methodologies are so similar, it is hard to differentiate them from one another. However, there is a slight difference between these two important concepts. The Agile techniques will help the project manager to achieve short-term set goals and the Lean methods will help the team achieve long-term goals.

Another similarity and difference between these two are their applicability. Both of them are quite applicable in various fields like software development, manufacturing, and even the social and economic development. Some of the advantages of the two methods are discussed below. The Agile methodologies will let the developers deal with the problems as they come up and it will also help them develop quality software faster. The team members become more involved into the process. The time taken by the project manager to accomplish his task is reduced due to the predictive nature of the methodology.
