Is Las Vegas Really A Gambling House?

When politicians get together and create a gambling authority to oversee and monitor the casinos in Nevada, they inadvertently create one of the most significant misuse of power and greed that exists in the world today. Why do I say this? Well, because the Gambling Commission and the politicians who created the commission, did so in order to safeguard the gambling industry from competition. Needless to say, the result of this is obvious in the way in which the gaming industry operates.

Perhaps in retrospect, state and city leaders would also be better off if they'd kept the Convention Center available and rather put on large events and putting all of their hard-earned money into a gambling facility that pays absolutely no taxes and only pays small amounts for using their property in the center of the greatest city in the state. The cause of this is simple; there is not any money in Macau, because Macau is broke. The people who own the properties surrounding the Convention Center are simply interested in using the tax money that comes in, to cover their own executives and rent out their property. This is exactly what is happening in Las Vegas, with the Clark County Recreation and Parks Department.

Now then, I want to go into detail about the legal aspects of gambling in Las Vegas, that's the first and main article. What I am going to tell you is extremely disturbing and shows the total lack of ethics of politicians trying to pass laws that serve only the interest of special interests. One example of this is the recently passed Gambling Law, also called House Bill 1080. For people who don't understand, House Bill 1080 is a really controversial gaming bill that tries to impose a ban on online gaming in Nevada.

It is important to note that the House Bill has already been signed into law and is now a part of this State's Constitution. So, although it may have appeared as a gaming proposal, the true intent was to restrict online gaming at all Las Vegas casinos. Obviously, all casinos in Las Vegas opposed the House Bill and even said so publicly. This was nothing new to me, and yet it is good to know what all of our elected officials consider your right to bet.

In reference to this, I wish to have a look at how gambling in Las Vegas really works. When gamblers come to Las Vegas, they will need to gamble at one of three casinos in the Venetian casino complex. The rest of the casinos are owned by someone else, which makes betting in Las Vegas a very symbiotic relationship for both the casinos and the gamblers. The casinos make money from gambling addicts, while the gamblers pay taxes, get their hotels and food lodging, and generally get a excellent deal for gambling. 릴게임 So long as that is happening, the politicians will never have any problem passing ridiculous laws that serve only to benefit the gambling industry and hurt the rest of us.

Now then, why do I say all of this? Gambling is legal in most American towns, except for New Orleans. And yet there are many areas where it's illegal to gamble (including parts of Florida, where the legislation is most likely not as strict). Therefore it stands to reason that the average citizen in an Atlantic City, Las Vegas, or Jacksonville area doesn't have a very great deal of exposure to gaming, and therefore has no reason to be worried about it. Whereas the average citizen of a big northern city like Toronto or Montreal would.

But that is my point: it isn't the laws that govern gambling that are bad. It is the politicians who pass those laws which are bad. That is my main post, but if you read the entire thing, you will find that I am not quite as harsh on the gaming community since I was ahead of publishing this report. In fact, I actually support legalized gambling in Las Vegas. And why I support it, I'll let you know in a subsequent article.

My main beef with gambling generally, and Las Vegas in particular, is that it degrades the value of your house and increases your property taxes. It reduces tourism, and it causes problems in other areas of government, such as urban planning. And, perhaps worst of all, it destroys family bonds, which is supposedly one of the purposes of marriage in the beginning anyway. The only way that gambling should be legal in Las Vegas is if you're married to a casino employee and know nothing else about betting, or if your family owns a house in Las Vegas and you want to gamble with your money there.
