uv ballast uvc light ballast

UV ballasts are designed and manufactured to pair with specific UV bulbs found in specialized equipment. A UV ballast is an electronic device that manages both the current and the voltage in an electrical circuit.

Electronic ballasts are typically installed to operate gas discharging mercury, or amalgam lamps. Originally, ballasts were operated via magnetic induction. As technology has advanced, UV ballasts today are now electronically operated, which makes them much more compact.

A UVC light ballast initiates the lamp's gas discharge process, converting electric frequencies to amplified frequencies.

Electronic equipment that features a UV bulb will also require a UV ballast. Each device has unique specifications, meaning that a UV ballast must be carefully selected and paired with it. UV lamps that emit short-wave ultraviolet light are being utilized in many different industries. Currently germicidal lamps are increasingly being used in healthcare, pharmaceutical, and FMCG sectors. The global pandemic is sadly claiming thousands of lives every day and due to the worldwide implementation of Covid-19 sanitization routines and surface disinfection, new products that utilize germicidal ballasts are being constantly developed, so we can expect ever more applications of UV ballasts in the future.

UVC light ballast manufactured by ISL Products are subjected to a series of rigorous testing to ensure optimum performance.
