Story Hyperlinks The Chucky Mullins Courage Award banquet has been set for Thursday, April 15 at 7 p. m. CT in the Indoor Practice Center on the Ole Miss school. Former winner and current Duke assistant coach Derek Jones will serve as speaker for the 21st yearly event. Rebel head coach Houston Nutt revealed Thursday the 2010 award finalists are security Johnny Brown, linebacker Jonathan Cornell, tackle Ted Laurent, end Kentrell Lockett, tackle Jerrell Powe and linebacker Allen Walker.
The 2010 Chucky Mullins Nerve Award recipient will be revealed during the banquet, which is sponsored by Phi Kappa Psi and Phi Beta Sigma fraternities. This year's winner will also be acknowledged during pregame events of the yearly Grove Bowl spring football game, which takes place Saturday, April 17 at 1 p.
at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium/ Hollingsworth Field. In addition to Jones' speech, participants to this year's banquet will be addressed by Coach Nutt and will see video highlights of numerous previous award winners using their reflections on Chucky Mullins and the significance of the honor. The seventh recipient of the Chucky Mullins Nerve Award, Jones was a two-time All-SEC cornerback and captained the Rebels in 1996.
