An Incident That I Can't Remember in My Life

At the heart of this series is the idea that no two people are alike, and that even though we might have some similar characteristics, our memories are rarely identical. When an incident that i cannot remember in my life comes up in a discussion about memory, it can be tempting to draw conclusions about how I might have formulated the ideas that I mentioned in an essay about memory. Next, I try to recall as many details about the incident as possible. Last, I try to draw connections between the details that I have gathered and the incident itself.

For example, let us say that I was walking by a park and a young boy approached me and asked me for some money. I handed him some money and he then put his arm around me and started touching my back. This is a classic case of an incident that i cannot remember in my life, but if I draw a parallel between the situation and the details that I have gathered, I can easily see that the young boy had sexual intention towards me. By connecting the two incidents, I was able to figure out how the young boy came to be on the premises in the first place and why he wanted to touch my back.
