How to Create a Fitbit Account

from web site

The Fitbit com setup procedure is divided into two stages: creating a Fitbit account and customizing your device. This post will take you through both stages of the process.

You’re prompted to create a Fitbit account when you first launch the Fitbit app (or Fitbit Connect) (or to log in with your Fitbit credentials, if you already have an account). The initial screen for the Fitbit app on an iPhone is shown in the diagram below.

To join Fitbit, follow these steps:

1. Choose Join Fitbit from the drop-down menu.

If you already have a fitbit.com setup account, choose Log In, enter your email and password, and then choose Log In again. You’ve completed this section, so feel free to skip the remainder of the stages.

A list of Fitbit devices is displayed in the app.

2. Choose the sort of Fitbit gadget you want to use.

A second screen may appear in some situations, displaying a list of device subtypes. Select the subtype of the device you’re setting up if you encounter this page.

3. To proceed, click one of the following buttons:

Set Up Your Fitbit Device on Android, where Device is the name of the device you choose in Step 2. The Let’s Get Started screen appears in the Fitbit app, which is similar to Figure 3-2 except for the absence of the First Name and Last Name boxes.

Choose Set Up on iOS. The Enter Your Account Details page appears in the Fitbit app, as illustrated in Figure 3-2.

Set Up Your Device in Windows 10, where Device is the name of the device you choose in Step 2. The Let’s Get Started screen displays, which is identical to the one seen below but without the fields for First Name and Last Name.

4. Create a Fitbit account using the email address and password you want to use.

If you’re using the Fitbit app on an iOS device, you’ll also need to input your first and last names.

5. Check the box next to I Agree to the Fitbit Terms of Service.

6. (Optional) Select the Keep Me Updated about Fitbit Products, News, and Promotions check box if you want to get the latest Fitbit announcements and special offers.

7. Click the Next button.

If you’re using the Fitbit app on Windows 10, choose Create Account instead.

If you’re using the iOS version of the app, hit Let’s Go on the following screen.

The Fitbit app asks you for personal information like your birthdate, height, weight, and sex. The method for entering this information varies depending on the app version. You go through a sequence of screens in the iOS version. The About You panel appears in the Android and Windows 10 versions. The About You panel in the Windows 10 version of the Fitbit app is shown in the diagram below.

8. Fill up your personal information and choose Create Account (iOS), Create an Account (Android), or Save (Windows 10).

If you see an alert asking you to enable Bluetooth, choose OK.

The Fitbit terms and conditions are displayed in the app.

9. Pretend to read the legalese before tapping the I Agree on button.

The Fitbit app now begins the configuration process for the device you chose in Step 2.

How can I connect (setup) my Fitbit device?

Now it’s time to think about how to set up your gadget.

To begin, look through the following:

●    Check to see if your fitbit.com/setup is charged.

●    Make sure the Fitbit app is operating on a Bluetooth-enabled device for most Fitbit devices.

●    Make sure the device running the Fitbit app is linked to Wi-Fi for select Fitbit devices, such as the Ionic and Versa watches and the Aria 2 smart scale.

You can begin in one of two ways:

●    You should have finished the initial part of the setup procedure if this is your first Fitbit device.

●    If you’re configuring another Fitbit device, keep in mind that you can only connect to one Bluetooth-based device at a time, so connecting to a second device will overwrite the one in your account. If that’s okay with you, open the Fitbit app and pick the Dashboard tab, then select the Account icon in the top-right corner of the app window, and then select Set Up a Device. Pick the device you’re setting up from the Fitbit app’s device list, and then, if prompted, select a device subtype. Select Set Up (or Set Up Your Device) or Switch to Device if you’re setting up a second device to replace the first. When the terms and policies appear, choose I Agree.

Now take the following steps:

1. When you initially turn on most Fitbit devices, you’ll see one or more displays explaining the device’s fundamental components and charging instructions. On each screen, select Next.

Following the introduction of formality, the Fitbit app searches for your Fitbit device via Bluetooth. Make sure your Fitbit and app devices are within 33 feet of one another. The app displays a four-digit number on the device screen when it locates your Fitbit device.

2. Enter the four-digit code that appears on the Fitbit device display into the Fitbit app.

The Fitbit app gadget will ask if you want to enable it to connect to fitbit.com/setup or link with it.

3. Choose Pair (iOS) or Allow (Android) (Windows 10).

4. Select Next to see a list of local Wi-Fi networks for Fitbit devices that use Wi-Fi. Select your Wi-Fi network, type in the password, and then tap Connect (iOS) or OK (Android) (Android).

The Fitbit app now checks to determine if your Fitbit device is running the most recent version. If you don’t, the app will ask you to do so:

The update happens through the internet connection of the Wi-Fi network for devices linked to it.

The update takes place over the Internet connection of the device that is running the Fitbit app on all other devices. This method necessitates a Bluetooth connection between the devices, so make sure they’re in close proximity.

5. To conduct the upgrade, choose Update Device (iOS; where Device is the type of Fitbit device you’re setting) or Next (Android or Windows 10).

The rest of the setup procedure consists of one or more pages that introduce you to your new Fitbit when the upgrade is complete.

6. To proceed with the introduction, select Next on each screen.
