Karate origins

It is generally accepted that karate is translated as empty hand in Japanese, which is an appropriate name, since it involves using various weaponless methods such as punching and kicks to defend against an attacker. Okinawa is considered to be the place of birth of karate origins, with several various forms of the martial art originating from this island. Gichin Funakoshi, one of the most prominent Okinawan masters, created his own style of karate that was dubbed Shotokan. Karate, an ancient martial art, developed in East Asia hundreds of years long ago. Karate's roots are in old Chinese martial arts. The movement, technique and discipline of Karate have been developed to the point where there are only a few similarities. So, is Karate Japanese or Chinese?

Karate as a Self Defense Weapon
As there numerous 'forms of karate, it's not difficult for schools to provide a 'watered down' version, which is not as effective as the original piece. While these classes tend to focus on the fundamentals and are good, advanced classes aren't exactly the same. The top karate schools teach students techniques that they will seldom find anywhere and everywhere else. These schools make karate an effective self-defense tool that can be used in real-life situations.

Karate is highly effective due to its efficacy
One of the fundamental elements of effective karate training is to place emphasis on blocking attacks. We're going to assume that a small portion of readers of this article have ever been attacked with the use of a knife or fist. However, be Karate origins that the majority of punches or knife thrusts come straight at you rather than in an circular motion. If someone throws a wild haymaker, it is easy to defend yourself against it, even without karate origins instruction! Where did Karate originate?

The beauty of karate is that it can be applied to attack someone in the conventional straight line. As they strike the attacker, you can move to the side and hit the attacking arm using one hand while exposing his exposed stomach using the other. Your swift and effective retaliation will be ignored by the majority street attackers. You can conclude matters by striking him in the groin, or your quadriceps. The threat will vanish when he falls in a heap.

Lightening Defense
A majority of attackers expect you to aim punches to the head so when you throw a punch using his right-hand, block with your left (or block by using your right hand, when the punch is left), and use your free hand to strike a powerful blow towards the midsection of his body. A powerful punch to the solar plexus will bring an attack to an end as swiftly as a groin punch.

If you believe that the attacker is charging at you, you can hit him with a rapid front kicks, by kicking the ball of your feet smashing into his stomach. This will cause him to slide backwards, causing severe discomfort. A strike to the groin in this situation is less effective as he will continue pushing you forward despite the discomfort.

Karate is a martial art that can be used in situations of combat where rules of decorum are not applicable. Although it's also enjoyable to master, its efficiency can be the difference between getting home in one piece and suffering a serious injury from the violent and unpredictable actions of a criminal.
