First Monday Trade Days may be a popular event in East Texas, but that doesn't stop hundreds of thousands of people from going to the City of Canton for four days every month. From Thursday to Saturday, in advance of the First Monday every month, hundreds of vendors are set up for shoppers with hundreds of choices.


What began nearly a century ago as an outdoor market has evolved into an area that houses some of the top-of-the-line, modern furniture, antiques, and collectibles in any store. Over the last 150 years, a lot of things have changed at the Original First Monday Park; however, the authentic, down-to-earth friendships between vendors buyers are what make people keep returning.

According to on the First Monday Trade Days website it is the oldest and largest continuous outdoor flea fair anywhere in the United States.


According to those who are in who are in the marketplace, idea is that First Monday Trade Days started back in the 1850's when the circuit judge was able to drive to Canton on the 1st Monday of every month. Folks from all over the county came to Canton to take part in court matters. Over time, residents brought their own items, whether it be produce, livestock or any other unique pieces to sell or trade. In 1965, First Monday outgrew the city's Town Square so it was relocated to the current place. And canton tx flea market is history...


First Monday Trade Days is made up of a variety of private vendors, so the odds are, regardless of how many times you've visited you'll never be able to see the entire market. The flea-market is situated on hundreds of acreage with over 700,00 square feet of shopping.


Attending First Monday is free, however the majority parking lots around the trade areas charge $5 for parking
