Despite the efforts of animal control officers and law enforcement, the glue trap finally caught a venomous zebra cobra on the porch of a home in north Raleigh on Wednesday night, ending an eventful 48-hour period that attracted attention throughout North Carolina.
The cobra was guided into a red bucket and taken to a safe location so that the glue could be removed completely.
The snake was seen crawling onto a porch of a house on Sandringham Drive earlier in the day. Lifting its head, its hood could be seen.
Before moving in to capture the snake, Animal Control officers moved camera crews to the back.
This same residence had called 911 early Tuesday, sparking the search.

ARLINGTON, N.C. Following a 48-hour saga that garnered attention from across North Carolina, a venomous zebra cobra was captured with a glue trap on a north Raleigh porch Wednesday night, capping an event that garnered attention throughout the state.
As the glue was slowly removed from the cobra's body, it was placed into a red bucket and taken to a safe location.
The snake was seen crawling onto a porch of a house on Sandringham Drive earlier in the day. Lifting its head, it was able to see its hood.
Camera crews were moved back after the officers confirmed it was the snake before attempting to catch it.
An early morning 911 call from that same home prompted the search.

One zebra cobra has gone missing from a north Raleigh neighborhood where there is a striped snake on a porch.
A zebra cobra, which can spit up to nine feet, is faster than most snakes, so even a morning stroll with the dog becomes a fearsome event. It is very dangerous, according to the African Snakebite Institute. An animal's venom could cause the victim's nervous system to shut down.
Anyone who has been poisoned by the cobra will feel pain, swelling, irritation, vomiting, and diarrhea. In the next few hours, a heavy fever would occur, as well as respiratory difficulty.
Dr. Salina Locke, a veterinarian at Avian and Exotic Animal Care, treats all kinds of animals.
Cobras of this type are rarely known to bite. Generally, they squirt their venom a lot and shoot straight for the eyes, she said.
Despite the risks involved, Locke does not recommend keeping this snake as a pet.
Sleeping is when most bites occur. Research shows that people who are bit may suffer health issues for years.
Police searched a home on 6917 Chamonix Place on Tuesday, near where the cobra was last seen.
Four officers were dispatched to that home for an animal issue in March. The zebra cobra was spotted on a porch a half mile away on Monday and Tuesday.
The county records show that Keith and Rebecca Gifford live at that address. His Facebook account shows several pictures of snakes he claims are owned by his son, Christopher, according to the account.
The TikTok account of Christopher Gifford has over 460000 followers. One of his posts claims that he owns a 7-foot zebra cobra.
