“Eye” is an interesting word in the English vocabulary. Anderton finds the minority report and proves to the public that this is a flawed system. The director is indicating to Anderton that the whole nation is watching the system and allows no flaws. He is pressuring Anderton to handle the case seriously.

Simile is also obvious in the film. The precogs are likened to the prophets while the place that is used to extract the crime images from the precogs is called by Anderton as “the temple” (Minority Report). Although Anderton says it is just a “nickname,” the place has the power that a temple has in the ordinary people. Rufus T. Riley, the owner of the entertaining house, would kneel down in front of the female precog. The capability of the precogs to see the future crimes in the movie represent the divine force, something that is not realized by science. However, unfortunately, even if the precogs have the gift to predict crimes, their gifts have to manifest through the power of science.

“Eyes” are symbolized with multiple meanings in the movie. As the basic sense organs, eyes are used to collect information. We believe what we see because we believe we see the truth. That is how the precrime system works. The precogs “see” the future crimes which are visualized for the policemen to capture the criminals. However, the images can be distorted. Is what we see really what have happened? From the words of Director Burgess, the “eyes” symbolizes the expectation of the nation. In the nation-wide scanning system, the eyes of the common people become the tools used to track the path of a person. There is no privacy of the common people. In this case, the eyes symbolize nation-wide supervision.

The movie Minority Report uses the visual effect like the fuzzified imageries to enhance the setting of the movie to invoke a sense of danger among the audiences. In the movie, the “eyes” are also symbolized with the meaning of perception ““the one-eyed man is king”, the gifted power of the precogs, the expectation of the public, and the nation-wide supervision system, leaving the common people with no privacy.
