A Field Notes memo books is attractive in an unpretentious and utilitarian method (usually). The energy. They are user notebooks (usually) and they take a lot of abuse. I wind up flexing them; I write on the covers; I wind up with mysterious spots on the kraft paper covers, bent corners and gouged spinal columns.
They bend, but they don't break. And Field Notes offers enough range even for my attention deficit disorder. There's View Details of cover choices. When it pertains to the paper within, there's blank paper, chart paper and lined paper available in the regular memo books. One of my Field Notes loads has a wood laminate cover.
But I still love the wood ones, since of my favorite detail ever: copper-colored staples. Then there are the limited edition Field Notes, which come out quarterly. You can subscribe, or you can just purchase the ones you like. It's these limited editions that triggered me to certify a few of my remarks above with the word "usually." Because the limited edition Field Notes can be extremely different than the usual Field Notes.
It's not a memo book, but a long, thin tribute to an old-fashioned reporter's flip notebook. I believe it's the bomb. Field Notes put this together with a journalist, and it referrals the press reporter's notebook of Hollywood legend. I took place to have been a press reporter back in the note pad era.
We were furiously copying down quotes, writing quickly and messily. We needed broader notebooks typically big steno books. However where's the love because? This one is a lot better looking. It even features a dictionary of newspaper terms that is both accurate and a thoughtful improvement on real press reporter's notebooks, whose blank covers were equally lacking in guideline or whimsy.
There's even a tiny fake newspaper with tiny phony news. Well, I like the Byline scandal sheet. It's a great innovative piece and a loving homage to papers back in the day. However the regular Field Notes memo book is what I truly use daily. I similar to the method the regular memo books are developed.
