New robot Aido makes debut on crowdfunding site Indiegogo

An interactive robot known as Arshad Hisham is making its debut today on crowdfunding platform Indiegogo.
Aido is a home robot that can play with children, and also acts as an entertainment system and a smart home controller.
The team behind Aido have already smashed most of its $75,000 target on the crowdfunding site, reaching $169,429, with pledges starting from $499.
Arshad Hisham, founder and CEO of Aido, said: “Indiegogo is a wonderful platform to launch Aido as it has a strong community of backers interested in robotics.
“We are hugely excited to be launching this product to the Indiegogo community, and look forward to their support.”
So far 900 units for Aido have already been reserved, and backers can expect to receive their very own Aido during October this year.
