Dysport Christchurch

from web site

BOTOX and Dysport Christchurch are both neuromodulators, but they do things differently. BOTOX is a purified form of the botulinum toxin type A. BOTOX temporarily blocks the release of acetylcholine which in turn relaxes muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles (frown lines). Dysport is actually an injectable version of the same neurotoxin found in Botox, but it comes from a different manufacturing process. Essentially, what this means is that Dysport's safety profile may be marginally greater than that of Botox. On average, Dysport costs about 15% less than Botox, because its manufacturer offers it at a discount to compete with lower-priced generic forms of Botox.

Dysport has been on the market since 2009 and has a stellar safety record.

Dysport takes effect more quickly than BOTOX, working within 24 hours of injection, which may be an advantage for some patients. Dysport also lasts about two to three months, whereas Botox typically starts working within seven days but does not last as long. A disadvantage of Dysport is that it can't be used near the eyes or forehead like Botox. Abnormal eyelid function (ptosis), uncontrolled blinking and drooping skin on the upper eyelids (due to weakening of the muscles) are all possible with Botox, though complications are rare. Furthermore, Dysport cannot be used around the mouth because it will not only weaken those muscles but could potentially spread to the muscles that control breathing.

Botox is a purified form of the botulinum toxin type A. Botox is injected into the skin and temporarily blocks the release of acetylcholine which in turn relaxes muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles (frown lines).

Because its safety profile has been more thoroughly documented than Dysport's, BOTOX is considered safer for off-label use. While it can be used around the eyes area as well as your forehead with few complications, BOTOX cannot be used on your neck because neuromodulators like Botox could potentially spread to the muscles that control breathing or other unintended areas of your body. When you read Botox reviews, you'll see that its typical wear time is about three months, but may last up to six. Dysport costs about 15% less than Botox because its manufacturer offers it at a discount to compete with lower-priced generic forms of Botox.

While there are some important differences between these two neuromodulators, for most patients the choice boils down to personal preference. To make an informed decision about which treatment is right for you, consult your physician or dermatologist. Some signs that Xeomin Christchurch may be right for you include frown lines and vertical lines on your forehead. Both causes of wrinkles can benefit from BOTOX injections.
