The Best Iranian Restaurant in Dubai – An Insider's Guide

from web site

What makes Persian food so popular with the residents of Dubai? For one thing, it’s affordable, healthy, and delicious – but that’s only part of the picture. Aside from all the Iranian restaurants in Dubai, there are also cultural factors to consider. Many Iranians have settled down in Dubai over the years; as a result, many of them have opened restaurants serving their favorite foods and native dishes! Here’s our guide to finding the Best Iranian Restaurant in Dubai

Isfahan - A Vibrant City

Isfahan is one of Iran’s oldest and most storied cities. With a history dating back thousands of years, Isfahan today has become synonymous with gold and diamonds. But there’s more to Isfahan than just opulence; as Iran’s third-largest city, it’s also one of its most culturally diverse. The intersection of these different cultures has made Isfahan a unique blend of many different traditions, including Jewish, Persian and Zoroastrian communities.

Early History

The city of Dubai has a population of over 2 million, although only about 10% is actually from Iran. The other 90% are expats and ex-pats from all around the world who work for international corporations. The first Iranians to move here were businessmen who traded with Dubai. As time went on, those businessmen’s families joined them, and a small community began to grow. Today, that community is known as Little Persia and there are many people living there who hail from Iran.

Persian Cuisine

A Taste for Adventure - Persian cuisine is full of delicious smells and flavors. It may not be a familiar taste for everyone, but there are many ways to incorporate some Persian meals into your own diet. If you’re feeling adventurous and want to try something new, read on for some tips on what Persian food has to offer.

Saheb Restaurant

Saheb is arguably one of best Persian restaurants in all of Dubai. While they’re definitely up there on that list, as with any great eatery, you really have to know what you’re doing when choosing your entree.

Location, Location, Location

Take a tour of Deira, the lesser-known neighborhood that’s home to Iran Zamin (pictured above), a cozy family-run restaurant with authentic Persian cuisine. The small eatery specializes in kebabs and rice dishes, like fesenjun—fiery saffron and pomegranate-infused beef stew. While you’re there, treat yourself to some local favorites, like dizi: an earthy red lentil soup.

Interiors

One of a handful of Persian restaurants, along with Shiraz (Palm Strip Mall), Middle Eastern Bistro and Tandoor Cuisine (both within walking distance from one another on Hessa Street, near Bank Street). Touba occupies an unassuming space that looks like it could be an office or doctor’s waiting room.
