What is the most crucial step in the manufacturing process? 


There is no way to categorize processes in a manufacturing process according to their importance, but if someone were to try to think up a new product, what would he consider to be an important feature? 


To an engineer, the answer is obvious, as it has been made clearly evident since the beginning of the second semester of mechanical engineering or production engineering that engineering design is an important subject.

After all, it is the bread and butter of industrial design firms, which create goods for manufacturers and earn a career doing so. Manufacturing a product entails more than just properly shaping and machining the workpiece or achieving a high-quality finish while staying within tolerance limitations. The end user's data or needs are collected as the first step in the production process. It is not built to suit what the manufacturer considers to be the greatest, but rather to suit what the end user considers to be the best.   • It satisfies the end user's primary requirement.
  • It should also be capable of meeting secondary needs.
  • The design should employ the least amount of material possible, minimizing any waste.
  • It should be comfortable to use and understand.
  • The user is always drawn to artistic appeal.

The following step, after the engineering/machine drawing, is the designing process. It differs from the traditional design approach in a few ways. It entails more than just drawing the product's shape; it also involves the idea of making the product durable and cost-effective before submitting the design to a production plant. It entails calculating the product's numerous modes of failure and designing with an acceptable safety factor. This technique necessitates material science understanding as well as mechanical design elements.
