Pastor Chris Oyakhilome was born December 7, 1963 in Edo State in Nigeria. He grew up in a faith-filled family with loving and dedicated parents. He is the oldest son of Elder T.E Oyakhilome and Angelina Oyakhilome. She was a founder of the Assemblies Of God Church in Benin City and a matriarch of the Oyakhilome families. She passed on her divine grace onto her son at an early age.
The LoveWorld ministry involves the whole family. Reverend Ken is his brother and is the revered Pastor at Christ Embassy's Houston Texas Church. He is also a part of the Christ Embassy Central Executive Council. KattyWorghiren is the director of the LoveWorld Music and Arts Ministry, which houses a number of top gospel artists.
Pastor Chris is the father of two daughters: Carissa Sharon (Charlene) and Chris. Carissa Sharon has decided to follow her father's example of sharing the Word of God with the world and is also called CSO She is a gifted, award-winning gospel singer and part of the LoveWorld Music and Arts family.
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome started his studies at Edo College. Chris Oyakhilome Family Then he was granted a scholarship to go to Bendel State University, now Ambrose Ali University. There he earned an BSc. in Architecture as well as an honorary Doctor of Science. He holds an honorary doctorate in divinity from Benson Idahosa University. Ambrose Ali University was his first university. He received a call from God to join the ministry and to serve the Lord.

He established an unassuming prayer group dubbed "Youth for Christ" which would later grow into the most popular organization of its kind on campus. This would also serve as the basis for the future Christ Embassy and LoveWorld Incorporated with millions of followers around the world.
The LoveWorld ministry was launched under the direction of Pastor Chris. It is a pioneer in satellite television, Christian TV production and programming. LoveWorldSAT was the first Christian television station broadcast from Africa to the the world, 24/7, all the time on free-to-air channels. There are LoveWorld television stations on cable and satellite networks around the world.

COFI supervises the InnerCity Mission, ICM for Children The Volunteer Medical Corps and Trauma International Foundation (TCIF), Future Africa Leaders Foundation , and the Bible For All Mission. Each of these organisations works to improve people's lives, health, spirits and well-being.
