How to host and configure a Minecraft Server with No-IP.

Three things are required to start:

Minecraft Account Minecraft Server Software No-IP Account Account Minecraft Server Software No-IP Account

To connect to the server and play, you'll need a Minecraft account. If you don't already have an account, you can create one here.

Step One: You will first need to download the Minecraft Server software package hosted here and start the server.

Step Two Step Two: Installing and configuring the Minecraft Server You will want to use the following link and follow the instructions for installing it to your particular operating system:

Once everything is set After that, move on to Step Three.

Step Three Step Three: Port Forwarding

If you need help with port forwarding, go to portforward.com. There you can enter the make and model number of your router and the device/application/software you wish to forward. The site will then provide you with step-by-step instructions on how to properly port forward your router.

After completing port forwarding, go to www.portchecktool.com to check if port 25565 is open. If it is, you'll get a "Success!" message.

You can also find additional port forwarding support in our General Port Forwarding Guide.

You'll need to confirm that we are correctly connecting your hostname to the correct external IP address. You can check your current IP address by, once again, visiting www.portchecktool.com from the network's location.

Step Four The next step is to need to set up an approach to keep Your IP address current and not be a dynamic public (external) IP address. There are a variety of ways to do this.

First download our Dynamic Update Client. This client will need to be running all the time at the location of the network. It will check your IP address every five minutes and, should it find that it has changed, it will update the change with No-IP.

You can also see whether a device on your network supports No-IP for Dynamic DNS updates that are integrated. No-IP for DynamicDNS is supported on certain devices like routers and camera systems. This will eliminate the need to download the Dynamic Update Client.

Step Five: At this time you should be connected to your server and have your friends connect too. Simply give MINECRAFT using and the port number. For example, "hostname.domain.com:25565".
