Telltale's Minecraft: Story Mode (opens in new tab) wasn't the only massive reveal at this weekend's Minecon. Microsoft also used the occasion to announce a brand new model of Minecraft-Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition. It will be free when you already own the game on Computer, or $10 if you don't, and it's based mostly on (opens in new tab)the Pocket model of the game. 360 degrees all the way around starts on July 29th.


Windows 10 Edition will not boast each function of Minecraft, at the very least to start with, but Mojang say they're "aiming for function parity" (see above hyperlink). Xbox Dwell and controllers might be supported, but won't be required, and it seems Mojang are aiming for devoted servers additional down the road. The seven-player limit talked about below is because the sport relies on Pocket Edition. Here's the function record of Home windows 10 Edition because it stands now:


- Craft, create, and discover on-line with up to seven mates enjoying Home windows 10 Version Beta, via native multiplayer or together with your Xbox Dwell friends online.

- Play on-line and local multiplayer with different Pocket Edition players due to a free replace, due to arrive soon after launch.

- Multiple management schemes! Switch between controller, touch, and keyboard controls with little to no effort!
