It is thought that the mac launcher does not work, minecraft crashes on launch.

You can obtain an app file to do that for you

The total process for launching properly is
1. Save the launcher jar on the Desktop in a folder known as ftb

There's a plan (I'm fairly certain) to release the launcher in application format for mac that will do this. (Might be linked changing the crossed out area on the primary publish). However, good solution.

Just like with Vanilla server you can make a launch.command file
Heres a one I threw collectively primarily based on the code above

Simply unzip and drop it into the identical folder you have got the FTB.jar in and double click.
If you get an error saying it does not have permission, open a brand new terminal window kind in without the quotes "sudo chmod +x (drag launch.command here)" then hit enter.
Be sure that you have got an area between the "+x" and the file path.

Have any of you tried merely beginning it with this:
Code:
cd ~/Desktop/ftb/ java -jar FTB_Launcher.jar

This has labored for me. I find it weird though that the sport can not run without beginning it this way. Particularly since it doesn't throw any errors, but simply closes...
Have anyone investigated the trigger for the odd behavior when launching the jar by double clicking it, or is it still a mystery why it acts the way it does?

When you've got java 7 put in it won't work on OS X. If you are interested, read http://lwjgl.org/discussion board/index.php?subject=4711.0 .

I know of the issues with LWJGL, have been following the event of that thread for a while.. wanna get the new model. The one which ships with Minecraft has a nasty memoryleak in terms of age-altering in Mystcraft (presumably also Nether/End, however unsure)

You possibly can open the terminal in two ways:
- Go to Finder, click on on "Functions", scroll all the way down to "Utilities" and double click on to open it. Scroll down to "Terminal" and double click on it.
- Hit Command + Space (to open spotlight) and type "Terminal" (without the quotes).
