Terraria Meets Aliens In The Frantic Roguelike DomeKeeper, Playable Now

from web site

CMS Welcome to my blog

Dome Keeper is a new Roguelike game that blends underground mining and tower defense. It's reminiscent of the arcade classic Missile Command. Dome Keeper just released a demo on Steam prior to the upcoming Steam Next Fest 2022 event, so you can check it out and dive deep into the earth in search of the resources you need to protect your dome from the deadly denizens descending upon you.

Dome Keeper places players in a dome on the surface of a mysterious, hostile planet. You must descend into the deepest parts of the planet to find valuable materials for upgrades. Mining is simple. All terrain is broken down into smaller blocks. Crafting game veterans are familiar with this layout. Mining becomes more difficult and slower the more deep you go. You should upgrade your equipment before you go too far.

Like Minecraft and Terraria, resources are often tightly grouped and if you notice an ethereal glimmer in your tunnel, digging it will often uncover more valuable materials that are waiting to be collected. Once resources have been mined and extracted, they need to be manually dragged to the dome for storage and for use. my cms is done by pressing the button to connect resources to your suit and the more you drag behind you, the slower you'll move. Eventually, you'll become totally immobile until you drop a few pieces on the ground.

Once your resources are at the base and are in the base, they can be fed into upgrades for your drill and jetpack that will enable faster mining and traversal along with the ability to carry more resources at once with less impact on your maneuverability. In addition, you can upgrade your dome, feeding into the second (and possibly the most important part) of Dome Keeper: protecting your base from hordes of weird alien beasties.

The tower defense section is handled by a huge laser on top of your dome, that can be rotated around its surface in an arc to target any direction. You can hear incoming threats and direct attacks on your dome from below in the tunnels, and you'll be aware of when it's time to dash back up and clean house. Upgrades to your dome display important information such as the time until the next attack and the health status of your dome.

Currently Dome Keeper offers two difficulty settings : the default setting 'brutal' and a less intimidating 'hard but doable' option. It certainly feels pretty punishing at first and the distinct sound of the banging surface will soon send you in a state of panic. You can check it out for yourself in a Steam demo that is available on the game's store page.

We'll keep you informed of any new standout PC games that are coming to Steam Next Fest. Another crafty news: A Lego Terraria build by a fan is fighting bosses and underground mining scenes. We've also got all the information about the Minecraft 1.19 The Wild update as well as news of a possible Minecraft RTS game from the developers of Minecraft Dungeons.
