Minecraft Java And Bedrock Editions Are No More Separate

minecraft adventure servers

We hope you're not too attached to either the Minecraft Java or Bedrock editions of one of the most loved building games available on PC. Microsoft and Mojang confirmed that they'll end the game on June 7.

No matter if you're an avid player of the fantastic Sandbox game, you could be confused about the existence of two distinct versions of Minecraft on PC which are the Java and Bedrock versions. PCGamesN has a handy guide to explain the difference between the two, but regardless - even if you bought one, you did not get access to the other. Which is a little crazy.

Mojang and Microsoft are in complete agreement as they have announced (thanks to Neowin) the Minecraft Java Edition and Bedrock Edition. This single-purchase edition of Minecraft on PC replaces the separate editions. Minecraft servers goes on sale on June 7 and will become "the the standard and sole offering of vanilla Minecraft on Windows PC."

Anyone who owns either the Java or Bedrock editions of Minecraft will be upgraded to the combined edition. This upgrade is automatic, but it could take up to three days for all eligible players to experience the game.

Mojang confirms that "Java and Bedrock will remain separate games with distinct features," with the only difference is that you don't have to purchase them separately, and you can play both on the same Minecraft launcher. This is good news for everyone, with the exception of those who recently bought both separately. However, it will make downloading Minecraft significantly easier.
