Regular readers of the positioning know that the upper management is being shifted round here at Massively, that means that Brianna Royce will now be in cost. While we'll all the time miss Shawn Schuster's unmistakable voice and work on the positioning, the change will seemingly appear invisible to most readers.

I, for one, want to welcome our new overlord, for whom I have nothing however respect and admiration. By full coincidence, this week's header picture happens to be of her favorite animal. Also, I may have sent a lot of present baskets of fruit to her house. And I am sure we can all agree that earlier situations of tomfoolery shouldn't be taken into consideration when she now considers that she has full energy over me.

Transferring on from the welcoming of overlords, it is time for this week's installment of WRUP, featuring the Massively workers explaining our plans for the weekend as well as whether or not or not a graphical upgrade would bring us back to our first MMOs. Try our plans previous the break, and let us know what you may be as much as in the feedback!

@Beau_Hindman: I will be settling down on a brand new deed in Wurm Online, continuing to grind my teeth as I look forward to my new Computer to get right here, and putting my exploration money where my mouth is by finally downloading IMVU. It is a social MMO that looks very... different. I'm also still gathering my checklist of pre-World of Warcraft MMOs for protection. Luckily I still have most of my old accounts!

If I up to date any graphics for a few of my favourite video games, that might mean a downgrade for many of them. I need graphics which can be extra stylized, notably like those in Free Realms or Clone Wars Adventures. I might love to see a "serious" recreation completed with a more stylized flair. Wurm Online can keep how it's, however I actually wish to see some new avatars. I know they're coming, but boy, I can not wait!

@nyphur: This weekend I will be entertaining a visiting Swedish friend from my old World of Warcraft guild, working hard on Predestination, and making an attempt to convince my housemates to play extra Guild Wars 2!

My first MMO was RuneScape, and its graphical updates have actually introduced me again several occasions. I started again when it was a blocky world with 2-D goblin sprites, and the first big 3-D replace hooked me back in for a number of months. MINECRAFT SERVERS returned periodically to see what the sport is like, and the graphics are definitely the very first thing I look for. EVE Online has the same effect, with large graphical updates pulling people back in to attempt the game once more.

@nbrianna: I'll be dividing my game time between Guild Wars 2 and Metropolis of Heroes. Double XP is on permanently in CoH, I hear, so it is the perfect time to roll up a brand new character in time for the Positron's Ally event subsequent week.

My first MMO was Ultima On-line, and graphical upgrades did deliver me back many instances. That sport has had more improved purchasers than any MMO I know... but those upgraded shoppers usually get abandoned by the staff earlier than they're completed as a result of many of the veterans simply refuse to switch. Very frustrating!

@Eliot_Lefebvre: City of Heroes, Star Wars: The Previous Republic, and the ever-fashionable Offering Assist to a Liked One with a Chilly. At some point I will truly play Guild Wars 2 for more than 10 minutes at a stretch. If I am lucky, it will likely be before the tip of the decade.

I'm really the mistaken person to ask about returning to a sport for a graphical upgrade because graphics have never been what's turned me off from a game. I did not initially leave Remaining Fantasy XI due to the graphics; I left as a result of the game wasn't really enjoyable to play. If I see indicators that the game I did not like X amount of time in the past has gotten better, I will come working right again, but placing a new coat of paint on a sport I wasn't having fun with doesn't lure me again.

@elixabethclaire: The key World continues to be on pause for me as I commit my time to Guild Wars 2. I might wish to hit eighty by the middle of the upcoming week, so I'll be doing plenty of PvE and WvW this weekend. I did not imply to, but I've acquired an entire agenda plotted out for my non permanent "primary" after she hits 80, not to mention just a little roster of who is in need of leveling after her.

Not much gaming for me this weekend. Perhaps some The key World.

I return and play all of my previous MMOs anyway no matter updates, although I'm very much wanting forward to Anarchy Online's eventual reskin.

@Sypster: My MMO to do list is a mile large at this level. I actually need to place a cap on Volume III E-book 6 in Lord of the Rings On-line, take a look at the brand new Autumn Festival in RIFT, get by way of Egypt in The secret World, and make the large bucks in Guild Wars 2.

As for graphical upgrades, effectively, if Anarchy On-line ever gets that newfangled redux off the bottom, then you may bet I'll be first in line. It might be nice to see what a slightly more updated AO would appear like.

@JayeRnH: This weekend I am busy with a household journey, but in any spare time I have, I'm going to log into RIFT and dangle out subsequent to Atrophinius in the Autumn occasion just to hear his hilarious voice-overs. Aside from that, I will in all probability pop into Minecraft with the youngsters so we will work on our tree house.

My first MMO was EverQuest, and I'd be more likely to return if the game really reverted again to the previous graphics of avatars and revamped zones.

@mvmatt: This weekend is my roommate's birthday, so we've got some mutual associates coming to stay for the weekend. As a result, my gaming time might be going to be occupied more by cut up-display screen mayhem than MMO funtimes. But when the opportunity arises, I will be splitting my time between The key World and Guild Wars 2.

And would I go back to EverQuest or Ultima Online if either one acquired a graphical replace? That's a good query. I wish to say sure, but I don't know if I'd be telling the reality. I loved UO and EQ back within the day, however I feel it could take a bit greater than a graphical upgrade to make me a player again. For each charmingly dated feature that I fondly remember, there is a plethora of truly archaic design decisions that I don't assume I'd be ready to put up with.

@MJ_Guthrie: Oh my gosh! I get to recreation this weekend!! *nearly faints with pleasure* How a lot can I cram in? Let's see, the vote won't be in for Select my Adventure, so The key World will likely be on hold until Monday. (By the way in which, go vote!). To fill my weekend, I'm going to dive into GW2 extra (I really need to check out an Asura), start plotting more for my EverQuest II neighborhood procuring district in addition to take in just a few dungeons, and unfold my wings in Aion to finish up some quests and maybe even get a couple of rounds of PvP Arenas in. I also plan on consuming pizza. Mmm.

I might go back if they'd turn the blasted servers again on! (RIP Star Wars Galaxies.)

@mackeypb: I have been playing extra Touhou Hisoutensoku (not that any of you understand what that's), in addition to League of Legends. I'm currently carrying as Graves, although I'm pretty certain these reading my column already know that. It feels good to play extra airdash fighters, although; I really feel like a bit of a void has been stuffed in my gamer coronary heart.

To ensure that me to go back to EQ, it might take a better recreation, not a graphical update. Really, graphical updates imply virtually nothing to me. If the identical EQ graphics as in 2000 were on top of the GW2 engine, I might still be down for playing it. High-high quality graphics are a bonus, not a necessity.

@terilynns: I can be leaping into Star Trek On-line this weekend to play a couple of Foundry missions to discuss on my UGC podcast. I will even be in Lord of the Rings Online as I discover it very stress-free to farm and craft in that game. If time allows, I might be back in Glitch as properly. And sure, the rumors are true: Some individuals are twisting my arm to give Guild Wars 2 a strive. I'd decide it up this weekend.

I am actually glad this week's question would not apply to me. My first MMO continues to be my favorite, and it's a stupendous sport -- Star Trek On-line!

In the beginning of every weekend, we catch up with the Massively workers members and ask them, "What are you enjoying this week?" (In any other case referred to as: WRUP!) Be part of us to see what we're up to in and out of recreation -- and catch us within the comments to tell us what you're playing, too!
