Mini games let players relive the Great Fire. They can join fire fighters fighting the flames using traditional tools such as replicas of the 17th Century firetruck (pictured) or leather buckets.

They can then walk through various terrains, including forests and caves. To get a bird's-eye view, players can fly up in the air.

With the Oculus Rift, now available players can now experience virtual reality.

Joshua Blair, the museum's digital learning coordinator, stated that the map that was the first in the Great Fire1666 series let us make visitors feel part of London's history and its times in 1666. Chilling And Killing were able recreate the narrow streets and iconic landmarks such St Paul's Cathedral or London Bridge to set the scene for the fire.

He added: "This second map is where you can discover the Great Fire story. We hope players are interested in learning more about this important moment in London's history.

According to its creators, the mini-games draw in historical figures, including King Charles II, Thomas Farriner - whose bakery ignited the fire and also the famous diarist Samuel Pepys, who documented the fire.

The museum's Great Fire 1666 exhibit that runs until April 2017, features the game.

Players will be available to download the latest maps for PC and Mac from 2 September.
