Minecraft: The RTX Beta Will Be Available On Java Edition

The Minecraft RTX beta from Nvidia is now available on the Windows 10 edition of the game. Everyone seems to agree with the fact that it is stunningly beautiful makes Mojang's title seem like a whole new game. Java Edition loyalists remain in the dark, wondering when or even if they will be able see the graphical enhancements firsthand. Microsoft recently used Minecraft to showcase the ray-tracing capabilities of their next generation console. This showcase made Minecraft look and feel completely different and almost unrecognisable. PC gamers can now enjoy the graphical improvements of soft and hard shadows, as well as global illumination, but your machine must first meet very specific requirements.

You must also have the Windows 10 edition, not the Java version. Java owners can still get the Nvidia Beta, but only for the above edition.

Is Minecraft RTX beta now available for Java Edition?

The Minecraft RTX beta is not available for Java Edition.

Mojang has released the RTX beta for Minecraft for Windows 10:

"The Java community have made some impressive modifications to the textures and lighting of the Java Edition of the game with mods," says the Minecraft Nvidia FAQ.

"This is a source to inspire this new work with NVIDIA/Render Dragon. While Java Edition does not natively support ray tracing, this beta introduces native DirectX ray tracing support into Bedrock.

We hope to provide this same spark and similar capabilities to the Bedrock community to envision their own point of view and express themselves with ray tracing and their own HD textures."

While the RTX beta is available for Windows 10 and not Java, Windows Central reports that there is a limited-time upgrade programme for original owners to get the required version for free.

However, if the Windows 10 edition is not available and you prefer to use the Java version, RTX can be experienced by relying upon the community.

You can get RTX for Minecraft Java Edition by downloading community textures from the likes of Realism Mats.

The Java Edition is currently without the RTX beta. However, the Realism Mats textures in Minecraft are a stunning alternative. They will allow you to experience ray tracing.

The available textures can only be downloaded by joining Patreon's $8 tier. You can also sign up for $30 to get a neat shirt. You will also need SEUS PTGI from Sonic Ether as well as OptiFine.
