Minecraft creator Mojang plans spin-off game

Minecraft maker Mojang is planning a spin-off game based on its wildly popular block-building game.
It is called Minecraft: Story Mode, it's an episodic game that takes place within the familiar Minecraft world, but introduces some new characters into the setting.
The game is produced by Telltale Games which has produced numerous other episodic games.
The first episode will be available on consoles, PCs and Macs in 2015, and also on Android devices.

It is not known what the experience will be. Mojang has released a short game that is based on a browser called Info Quest II to explain what it could look like.
Mojang announced in a blog post the game will be developed with the help of the Minecraft community.
It sought to reassure players that Story Mode would not be like the bloody and violent games Telltale has produced before now. Telltale's most recent titles include Tales from the Borderlands, The Wolf Among Us and titles based upon Game of Thrones and the zombie thriller The Walking Dead.
"Telltale's game will be similar in tone to Minecraft itself," said Mojang, "though it's an entirely original design that is influenced by our game."
Mojang has released the final version of its Scrolls card-based, magic-fighting game. Shortly after the announcement, the details about Story Mode is out.
