WoW and FFXIV Get the Boosted Playtime on Raptr; ArcheAge Playtime 'cracked'

from web site

All about minecraft servers and in general

Another Raptr report for another month. Yesterday Raptr.com published its most played PC games list for November, and MMOs did rather well. all about minecraft servers and minecraft in general It's not surprising that World of Warcraft surged up the list to second place thanks to the Warlords Of Draenor expansion. "The MMO's monthly play time was up 71.3% versus October," Raptr's press release states. Even though WoW "likely" was influenced by League of Legends' numbers however, it wasn't able to take over the MOBA's top spot.

ArcheAge playtime fell by 39.97 percent, while World of Tanks (and Final Fantasy XIV) saw increases in theirs. Raptr says that Guild Wars 2 rose in rank but lost playing time in November over October. SWTOR has dropped two places since October.

As with all roundups, Raptr roundups come with the caveat that they represent Raptr users on PCs, not all gamers. Certain MMO studios are also known to increase their Raptr numbers with in-game incentives. These games may not release information about their player base, so you might think of this as the next best snapshot of popularity , other than a tour of the servers.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and Dragon Age: Inquisition made their debuts on the Top Played List this month. World of Warcraft's newest expansion has given the MMO an upswing after a ten-year absence. Spider Solitaire also made a surprise return to the top 20 list after a long absence. The guilty parties know who they are.

Highlights

League of Legends remained in first place in November, despite losing 15.88 percent of the time played when compared to October. After LoL's Halloween sale it reached its peak at the middle of the month. While gameplay remained steady throughout most of the month however, the 4.20 update introduced lengthy queues that greatly affected playtime.

World of Warcraft's Warlords of Draenor likely took time from LoL and other major games. The monthly play time of the MMO was up 71.3% over October. As expected, daily playtime was affected by the expansion as well as the game's 10 year anniversary celebrations. The game's play time nearly doubled following the launch of Draenor, and was able to keep it up until November.

The other top five games were not as lucky. DOTA 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Smite saw a net decrease in the time. Smite beat ArcheAge for fifth. DOTA 2 and CS.GO saw double-digit drops (12.59 percent and 11.59% respectively) however Smite was down by less than 1%.

Archeage In contrast, it was cut by 39.97%; hence Smite's modest climb to the top of the list.

The downward trend continued with Minecraft (-11.70 percent), Diablo III (down almost 45% -we blame WoW), and Hearthstone (-13.11 percent, but we expect a rebound in December thanks to Goblins vs Gnomes).

Chart newcomer Dragon Age: Inquisition made an impressive debut in November's Most Popular Games, finishing in the top ten despite its release in late November.

While slipping in the ranks, World of Tanks managed to gain 7.72 percent play time when as compared to October. While the WGLNA Gold League Qualifying Rounds took place throughout the month, play was at its peak during the Thanksgiving weekend because of XP multipliers, holiday deals on premium products and the Thanksgiving weekend.

Final Fantasy XIV increased in play time by 20.97 percent. The increase can be attributed to the late October and early November hotfixes to this game, as well as the release of the Game of the Year edition which offered an additional 60 days of adventure (plus all the previously released content). The game's playtime wasn't affected by mid-month DDOS attacks that caused login problems.

Warframe and Guild Wars 2 each rose in ranking, despite losing play time in November as compared with October. Warframe hosted a Movember community event that culminated in the setting of a Guinness World Record. Guild Wars 2's Tangled Path content has been released with new areas, items such as skins, items, as well as other features.

Call of Duty: Advance Warfare is always more of an Xbox-based juggernaut launched in early November, and based on current trends we might not have it on December's Most Played.

Spider Solitaire was re-invented into Most Played for the first time since October 2013. It turns out that Thanksgiving isn't only about football, turkey and arguing with family members but also about playing Solitaire because the hours of gameplay during the month reached their peak on the 27th.

Note: The Share number by each game represents the game's gameplay time in percentage of the total time spent playing all PC games played by Raptr members. It is useful for comparing the relative amount of play time between certain games.
