Minecraft Player Spends three Years in the Creation of a Fictional City

The image above is not from Cities: Skylines. This is actually an image from an Minecraft project that has been under construction for the past three years - an attempt to create the fictional North American metropolis at an amazing level of detail. If you want to take a tour you can download the map to your computer.

Reddit creator the_balazs stated that, despite it being hard to believe, he actually built the site himself, and it took him about three years. It was built using the WorldEdit mod however, that's the only additional tool - everything you see was built by hand. A little help from Chunky generated the screenshots , which were then re-colored with beautiful lighting, and that's that.

You can download the map on Planet Minecraft. The map is dubbed Tranton, it's a fictionalised city that is loosely based on New York and Chicago. nbjyxspa Everything is built to dimensions, and some of the buildings have even interior floors. It's a remarkable piece of work all around.
