Epic Games founder and CEO Tim Sweeney says that Epic Games will not limit the distribution or sale of games featuring NFTs. He believes that developers should be able choose the way they build their games and you can decide whether or no to play them. "I believe that stores and operating system manufacturers shouldn't be trying to dictate their opinions on others. We shouldn't.

Sweeney's comments were reacted to by a user who inquired what the difference is between this policy and Epic Games its policy against discriminatory and hateful content. minecraft servers Sweeney stated that this is due to "editorial and branding judgments" and believes that Epic has chosen "to draw the line at the accepted norms."

A few users of the PC gaming subreddit have criticized Sweeney's stance. This is despite the fact that Epic CEO John McDonnell has been vocal about NFTs in the past. Sweeney posted publicly a copy of his September 2021 email response to an official tweet in response.
