AMA Responses 01

I have received numerous responses to my Ask Me Anything request. Some questions can be answered quickly, while others require an entire blog post of their own.

These are some suggestions that don't require an entire post.

Nicolas asked What's the background significance of your blog's logo?

There's no story to be honest. I wanted a logo with an easy monogram of my initials. But I couldn't find the K & Q to look nice together. I employed an Fiverr freelancer to design it.

Thelma asked: What is your hope for tomorrow?

It's not much. The world is heading to hell, mortgages are increasing, the world is becoming more hotter. Over-population is getting worse and we're running out of resources.

These are the reasons why my wife and I made the decision to adopt instead of having biological children. I am worried about the future of my children.

Joel asked"I don't see the amount of videogame chat in your posts. Are you not interested? What do you think of your children?

Gaming isn't something I'm interested in as I don't have the time. I play Sudoku and some Among Us on my phone occasionally however that's all. I do have an Xbox, but I don't recall the last time I turned it on.

I play Minecraft with my oldest son, but it's extremely rare as I don't get enough time to play these days.

Joel also asked: And If you had to wear a head-covering for the rest your life, which one would you choose?

I'm not a fan of the hats I wear; they're not for me (I have a massive head). I'm guessing it's my helmet for my motorbike, and I'd be on my bike all the time.

Is this cheating?

Dusan asked: I was wondering how you balance your time between work, family and other interests such as running Fosstodon. Are you organized or do you tend to be chaotic and figure things out on the spot?

As an aside, what type of music do you listen to?

I'm a very organized person. I don't like to let things slide. I like to just get sh*t done. I jump in and get started. If I do make mistakes I'm able to return and rectify them.

However, I am very restricted in my time off. Whatever time I do have, I make sure that it's not spent on computers for the entirety - usually outside, like walking the dogs or riding my motorbikes, etc. The ability to relax is vital.

Music is my favourite genre. Classic rock, like Lynyrd Skynyrd, Toto, Rolling Stones, AC/DC etc. There are pop, indie and everything between. I don't like a single genre; that would be doing music a disservice, I think. If I enjoy a song, I like it. No matter what genre.
