Motel industry has responded to the increasing demand for motel business by offering additional services. At present, there are larger hotels operating on the road trips, which cater to all segments of society. The early 20th century saw the inception of the motel industry in the travel industry. It was started by families who were on short-term road trips. They used to treat the motels as sleeping quarters, but gradually it evolved into something much more than that.

motel business in the United States has spread well beyond the road networks. There are many motels which have their branches in different parts of the country and even in other parts of the world. A motel located in New York is not the same as a motel located in Texas. A motel located in California is not the same as a motel found in Kansas. The reason behind this seemingly unorganized organization is that each state has its own specific laws covering the motel business.

One of the most famous of such motels is the John Hancock motel located on the outskirts of Manhattan in New York City. George, an American road trip pioneer, founded it. He walked from the Southern border in Mexico to the Empire State Building and gave it a false name. It remained there until the end of World War II. Today, the vast and impressive motels and guesthouses scattered over the Empire State Building still serve as a source of accommodation to the thousands of out-of-towners who make use of the facilities offered by such motels to visit New York City.

Most of the motels operating in the larger cities of the United States fall into one of the following five categories: city hotels, roadside motels, board and lodging motels, and private motels. City hotels and roadside motels are basically the same, but they differ in terms of their size, amenities, number of rooms and recreational activities. City hotels are found in the middle of the city where travelers can find restaurants, theaters, hospitals and other necessities. Board and lodging motels are found at the edges of the town where travelers can find amenities such as swimming pools, rest houses, lounges, bars and other activities.

motel v. United States is a legal battle between the Federal government (including the Department of Transportation) and certain motel chains. They claim that the United States government has limited authority to regulate motel operations in Texas. The Federal government is currently trying to pass legislation that will allow for more oversight of motel operations in order to ensure they adhere to legal guidelines. The United States' motel industry is a huge business. A motel may be located on a one hundred thousand dollar per room basis or more. The industry is estimated to be worth approximately two billion dollars per year with nearly eighty percent of that coming from the travel and lodging industry alone. In essence, the motel business is a huge part of the American economy.

Traveling across state lines and across the country has had a significant impact on the motel business. The most significant change has been the federal highway law. This allows state authorities to block roads that are unsafe for travelers through Interstate Commerce violations. This has the result that every day, thousands of people drive across state lines to visit their favorite destination or to visit friends and family.

The changing technology and the evolution in the motel business are the current challenges facing the industry. Online bookings of motels or through an online travel agency allow travelers to book rooms that are closer to their destinations for significantly less than booking rooms at regular hotels or motel chains. This trend is unlikely to slow down in the future. All motel owners should embrace the internet as a key component of the future success of the motel industry. https://www.hangugop.com/gimhae
