Minecraft to Create Portals between Servers, Eventually

Minecraft maestro Markus Persson recently updated his blog with a status report on his new studio Mojang Specifications and details about the coming Halloween update for the game. He also mentions that Mojang now has six employees, which includes three programmers, a pixel artist and an executive director.

Persson confirmed that the Halloween update will include six new kinds of block that have five "unique abilities". Additionally, there will be an entirely new monster, "a new dimension" and portals. Persson explained later in a tweet that portals will eventually be able connect between different Minecraft servers, though this feature won't be available anytime soon.
So, can monsters use portals? If yes, we wouldn't build a transdimensional monster funnel leading directly inside of another player's carefully constructed fortress. So you are welcome to invite us to a game and let us be in the back room for a few minutes ... okay?
