Heo In-hoe's 6th win in total professional golf...No. 1 Korean Tour average putt

Heo In-hoe (36, Geumgang House) regained the top spot of the Korean PGA Tour (first division) in 869 days (2 years, 4 months and 16 days).

The 7th iMBank Open of the 2023 KPGA Korean Tour was held at the Pami Hills CC Dong Course (par 71, 7,194 yards) in Chilgok-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do, with a total prize money of 500 million won from September 21 to 24.

Heo In-hoe, who shot a final 20-under 264 (67-66-69-62), beat Lee Jung-hwan (32, Sports Wave/team Sokchoi) by four strokes and will receive 100 million won in prize money for the 7th iMBank Open.

Heo In-hoe also won 1,000 Genesis points this season and the 2024-2025 KPGA Korean Tour seed. It is the first Korean professional golf league championship since the 40th GS Caltex Maekyung Open in 2021.

△ I'm very happy. After making a birdie on the first hole, I started off well enough to feel like I've already won. Thank you to everyone for your help. I thought it was two shots behind second place until the end, so I thought I made a mistake in the last "Maekyung Open" tournament at the last hole of the 18th hole (par 5).

- What's driving the return to normalcy?

△ I felt again this time that the sky decides the championship. There were no mistakes in the score, but all the missed putts went into the hole cup. Looking at this, I thought that "luck" works strongly in winning the championship.

- Did you feel that second-place player Lee Jung-hwan was chasing you?

△ I thought I could easily win the championship by making a birdie without a bogey in the first half of the hole. However, I was surprised to see the leaderboard after the first hole.

- The gallery gave me a lot of support?

△ Every time he made a birdie in the second half of the hole, the gallery's tension increased, and the average driver distance was higher than usual. He felt that he went about 350 yards further in the 10th and 11th holes. I thought to myself, "It's worth a try." The shouts of the galleries seem to give me an unknown power.

- Did you feel like winning after the 3rd round 3rd round?

△ I thought I was in the top 10 after the third round with a bad putt, but I was surprised to see that I was tied for the lead. The putt was very good in the final round.

△ My son (Huh) Yi Su is a "blessed man." I wanted the baby to win before he got bigger. I didn't want to hear that my son's grades were not good after he was born. I'm thinking of raising him as a golfer, but I hope winning with my son will have a good effect on him.

- What's your goal for the rest of the season?

△ I want to add one more win based on the good energy of this tournament. We will focus on the 'Hyundai Marine Choi Kyung-ju Invitational'.
