Rhode Island sports betting handle hits 6-month high in Sept

Rhode Island players spent $37.6 million on sports betting in September, the highest monthly total since March but lower than last year.
That's 9.8% less than the $41.7 million spent in Rhode Island in September 2022, but 67.1% more than the $22.5 million spent in August this year and the highest for a sixth month.
Of these, $28.7 million was bet online and $900,000 was bet on retail sportsbooks. Land-based bets were placed in physical facilities at Twin River and Tiverton Casino. Twin Rivers Bet $5.7 Million, Tiverton Casino $3.2 Million.
SEPT Sports Betting Sales Reach $3.5M
Rhode Island's sports betting revenue rose 150.0% month-over-month to $3.5 million in September, but that's 45.3% lower than $6.4 million in September 2022.
Online betting accounted for $2.8 million of total revenue for the month. Retail has a $663,538 stake, divided by Twin River and Tiverton Casino. Twin River made $441,485 and Tiverton Casino made $222,053.
Rhode Island players won a total of $34.2 million in sports betting in September, about $25.9 million in online betting and $5.3 million in retail betting at Twin River and Tiverton Casino, respectively.

Total handling reached $80.4 million in the three months to the end of August, with online betting at $61.8 million and retail at $18.6 million.
Revenue reached $6.6 million, with $5.4 million generated from online betting and $1.3 million from retail. Players earned $73.6 million, $56.3 million online, and $17.3 million in retail.
