Things to know about the ACP program from the Government
The ACP Program is a new program (as of late 2021) that provides discounts to make broadband service and connected devices more affordable. Lifeline is a program designed to support affordability for essential communications services, including broadband Internet access. Both are programs of the FCC.
It is part of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, which became a federal law on November 15, 2021, and provided $14.2 billion to expand the Emergency Broadband Benefit program to a longer-term broadband affordability program.
