Rice Wins WSOP Main Event At Turningstone Resort Casino

The 12-day Poker Tournament Series World Series at Turning Stone Resort Casino ended last night with an exciting championship game that crowned Joe Rice from Waterford, N.Y., the WSOP Main Event Champion. Rice won the tournament's biggest event, winning $238,870 and a second WSOP gold ring. During the first weekend of the WSOP tournament at Turning Stone, Saratoga County residents won $27,372 and their first ever WSOP ring. Along with Turning Stone's 13 additional WSOP circuit event winners, Rice will compete for $1 million in the championship game in Las Vegas this summer.

The WSOP tournament at Turning Stone was a huge success, far exceeding expectations. The tournament ended with a total of nearly 11,000 entries, with thousands of athletes from 26 states and Canada traveling to the region to participate in New York's first WSOP tournament. More than $4 million in cash was awarded during the 12-day tournament, four times the guaranteed prize pool.

The WSOP Circuit winners will receive prize money, the coveted WSOP Ring, the WSOP Circuit trophy, and the opportunity to compete in the Tournament of Champions in Las Vegas this summer.

- Two-time WSOP Tournament Winner: Joe Rice, Waterford, N.Y
Rice won a total of $274,441 in six events at the WSOP tournament at Turning Stone.
Rice also won two WSOP gold rings for the first time and a place in the tournament of champions in Las Vegas.
- WSOP 2nd place winner: Chad Rothershimmer, Cincinnati, Ohio
Roederscheimer won nearly $103,000 in total during the WSOP at Turning Stone.

Frank Gentile from Utica won a total of $27,202 during the WSOP at Turning Stone, his first WSOP gold ring, and earned a spot at the Toural of Champions in Las Vegas.
Although the WSOP Circuit event at Turning Stone has ended, poker players still have a chance to win $10,000 seats at the 2022 WSOP Championship in Las Vegas. The WSOP Satellite event is held every Sunday through Wednesday at the Turning Stone poker room, and the last WSOP main event is held on Sunday, May 1.
