Korean Inspire resorts and casinos by the end of this year and early 2024

Mohigan Gaming & Entertainment, a U.S. tribal game company run by Mohigan, announced today that it will inject a total of $142 million (W185 million) in cash to complete the Korean integrated resort project.

The amount may be split or invested at once before September 30, 2023, and the amount will be delivered to Mohigan's Korean subsidiary Inspire Integrated Resorts Inc.

Reasons for additional funding:

A share commitment letter was signed on Feb. 16 confirming the company's intention to secure additional funding for unfinished resort projects, after securing a total of about $1.55 billion to complete the first phase of the upcoming Inspire Entertainment Resort property.

With the current construction rate at 43%, one of the main reasons for making additional investments is that more money is needed to complete ahead of schedule.

In a related development, a company official said, "Additional funds provide certain non-exclusive equity investments to Inspire as needed to complete projects worth up to 155 billion won ($119 million)."

But it also invests up to 30 billion won, or about $23 million (about $23 million), to cover more expansion and pre-opening costs if it exceeds its budget and available emergency funds.

The Company's Money Lender has become a third-party explicit beneficiary of the equity commitment letter and may make additional contributions if necessary.

At the same time, Mohigan also signed a waiver and consent letter with the same lenders requiring them to agree to certain amendments to Inspire Korea's expansion plan, including changes to fixed-price construction contracts, to cover increased project scope and inflation costs.

In terms of investment, Mohigan signed a contract with Hanwha Hotel Group in early January, and Hanwha Hotel Group contacted Mirae Resort to operate three five-star hotel towers.

The company agreed to do so in exchange for an additional $80 million in "subinvestment."
