After receiving an email from OLG, the winner said he initially read that he received CA$22 + 1 free play, but then thought it was CA$22,000, but then found out there were 3 more zeros. After that, he told his wife to look at the birthday present, and it took him quite a while to realize that his husband actually won CA$2,200,000,000.
The Oakville-area resident and father-of-two said he had been purchasing lottery tickets regularly for 20 years now, and had signed up because he had forgotten to buy them a few times. According to him, the award is a life-changing award that enables options that he never considered before. With the money, he intends to give some help for his family.
Speaking of the Lotto Max game, Friday's draw didn't find the current lottery winner. Recently, OLG issued a statement to remind lottery winners in the state that $36 million in lottery money has yet to be won. The win was recorded by a ticket holder from Barry, Ontario, but they have not yet contacted the crown agency to receive the prize money.
